I realize how that sounds now…XD Batman is referring to the propellent that pushes out the spray that turns into the crystal stuff. It’s shown on Page 40 panel 6-8 if your curious. I probably should have drawn that again here.

Batman’s expression on this page makes me suddenly wonder… Is this Batman Bruce Wayne?
You don’t have to answer if this spoils anything, but I’m wondering if this Batman isn’t Dick Grayson. Maybe I got it wrong, but I figure that Bruce Wayne wouldn’t be that concerned for Raven, or more for her role in the mission. Or if it’s Bruce Wayne, then maybe you write him a little more sensitive than most versions I know of. Or maybe it”s just me reading it that way. Or is it the Batman Inc version, and we may see both Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson as Batman here? That would be so awesome.
It isn’t Dick Grayson here. I think Batman would still be really concerned about a young hero possibly getting caught in an huge explosion, but I agree he may be shown a little soft in the comic. There’s a lot of influence in his characterization with the Animated Series, as in keeping him somewhat well-rounded and close to a traditional hero, but he really does need some of that intensity and devotion to the mission a lot of comics write him as having, so I’ll keep that in mind when writing him in the future. Learning to draw heroes more grizzled or with sharp expressions where needed would probably help that too.
